Personal Injury

Hurt By Someone Else’s Mistake? We Make Sure You’re Not Stuck Paying For It.

After an accident, insurance companies get to work right away, but not for you. Adjusters call, push quick offers, and look for reasons to pay less. Hiring a personal injury attorney early protects your rights before those decisions get made for you. Our main focus is making you whole: healing, feeling better, and not having to worry about the legal side.

What Personal Injury Means

Understand Your Personal Injury Case

Understanding the law shouldn’t be one more burden when you’re the one hurt. Personal injury law exists to hold people and companies accountable when their carelessness injures someone else.

In plain terms, a personal injury case comes down to three questions. Did someone else act carelessly? Did that carelessness cause your injury? And what has it cost you? If the answer to the first two is yes, you may have a case, and the third defines what that case is worth.

Imagine driving home and someone runs a red light. One moment your life is normal. The next you’re in pain, out of work, angry, and watching your life change completely over something that wasn’t your fault. If that is where you find yourself, know that you do not have to face it alone. We are here to take care of you and walk with you through every step.

From a legal standpoint, your case has two sides: proving who is responsible, and showing what the injury has cost you. Here is what falls into each.

01

Liability

Who was at fault and how it gets proven. We have investigators who look into everything, and lawyers and staff dedicated to handling every piece of this side of your case.

  • Accident scene investigation
  • Witness statements
  • Video, reports, and records
02

Damages

Everything the injury has cost you, now and down the road. We document the full extent so nothing gets left out.

  • Medical costs and ongoing care
  • Lost income and earning capacity
  • Pain and suffering

Cases We Take On

Every case we take on is someone’s life turned upside down, and we treat it that way. If someone else’s negligence hurt you or your family, you are not alone. We are here to fight alongside you.

Car Accidents

Rear-end, rollovers, multi-vehicle, uninsured or underinsured drivers. We start the investigation within 48 hours.

Commercial Trucking Crashes

18-wheelers, delivery trucks, company vehicles. Federal rules apply. More liability, more coverage, more evidence available if we move fast.

Motorcycle Accidents

Bias against riders is real. We know how to push back with video, witnesses, and crash reconstruction.

Slip & Fall / Premises Liability

Stores, restaurants, parking lots, apartments. Evidence disappears fast. Video preservation must be demanded right away.

Workplace Injuries

Construction, warehouse, oilfield, non-subscriber employers. Many Texas employers are outside the state workers’ comp system, which changes everything.

Wrongful Death

When someone else’s negligence takes a loved one. We handle the case with respect and without pressure on the family.

Product Liability

Defective products, faulty equipment, dangerous drugs. Big cases that sometimes go to federal court.

Plant Explosions

Explosions and fires at plants, refineries, and industrial facilities. Complex cases against large companies that require immediate investigation.

Accidental Drowning (Swimming Pool Accidents)

Pools without proper supervision, fencing, or maintenance. We handle these cases with the care and sensitivity families deserve.

Catastrophic Injury / Burns

Life-changing injuries: severe burns, brain injuries, spinal cord damage. Cases where future care must be part of the recovery.

DWI Wrecks

When you get injured by a drunk driver, that is a civil case for you.

Uninsured / Underinsured Motorist

When the at-fault driver has no coverage or not enough, we file against your own insurer. Most people don’t know they can.

Our Approach

How VLF Handles Your Case

Gathering evidence as early as possible is the best thing for your case. We start right away.

01

Assessing your injuries.

Before anything else, you are a person, not a file. Our priority is making sure you are okay, that your injuries are being treated, and that your health is on the right track. Everything else comes after that.

Evaluating your claim.

Every case begins with a careful review of the accident, your injuries, and the evidence available to support your claim.

Gathering evidence and building your case.

What To Do Today

Do This

  • Get medical attention even if you “feel fine.” Adrenaline masks injury; delayed treatment hurts the case.
  • Photograph everything: vehicles, plates, scene, injuries, roadway. Timestamps matter.
  • Keep every bill, receipt, prescription, and appointment. Even the $8 parking receipts add to the case.
  • Ask for video preservation from nearby cameras. Footage auto-deletes in 30 to 60 days.
  • Write down everything you remember: weather, traffic, signals, what the other driver said.

Don’t Do This

  • Don’t give the other driver’s insurer a recorded statement without us on the line.
  • Don’t sign a medical release to the insurer. They’ll dig through unrelated history to lower the value.
  • Don’t accept the first check. First offers are almost always low, especially if your injuries are still developing.
  • Don’t post about the accident or your recovery on social media.
  • Don’t delay medical treatment. “Missing appointments” is the insurance company’s favorite argument.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked

Nothing up front. We work on contingency. If we don’t win, you owe us nothing. If we win, our fee comes from the settlement, and it is written clearly in your contract before we start.

Every case is different. Some resolve quickly and others take longer, especially if trial is needed. Our focus is not on closing fast, it is on making sure you are properly compensated.

Not yet. Because of our experience with these claims, we know what cases are really worth. Consult with us first so you know the proper value of your case before accepting anything.

You might be able to. In Texas, you can still recover as long as most of the fault was not yours. Even if you think you were partly to blame, talk to us first. It costs nothing to find out where you stand.

Yes, you can. Your immigration status does not affect your right to recover compensation, and it is not something that gets reported to immigration. Your privacy is handled with the greatest care.
